Practice software comparison

Asana vs CliniOps: project delivery and practice operations

Both tools organise projects and assigned work. Asana offers broad work management, reporting and integrations. CliniOps connects Projects and Tasks/My day to practice guidance, learning, team discussions and supported diary Insights. Choose the workflow your clinic needs to maintain.

CliniOps is in early access. Comparisons use official product information, not hands-on testing. AI access depends on permissions and settings.

When Asana fits

Our assessment: Asana is a strong option when detailed dependencies, portfolios, work reports or an established integration stack are central to your clinic's projects. Its AI agents and workflow automation also deserve a practical test on your actual plan.1

CliniOps also manages finite projects. Its distinction is how project delivery sits beside the practice's daily work, approved instructions, training and permitted appointment context. Completing every task is not the same as accepting the project outcome.

Try a reception improvement project

Use fictional material to set an outcome, owner and milestones for a new opening routine. Attach the draft, discuss a change, assign its tasks and review the result. Then ask a starter to find the approved instruction and complete the linked learning.

  • Check that a task completed in the daily view updates the project without a second record.
  • Show who accepts the result and who reviews the changed instruction.
  • Compare the plan, administration and staff habits needed for the whole workflow.

Practical questions

Can CliniOps manage projects as well as tasks?

Yes. Projects adds an outcome, owner, milestones and human acceptance around shared tasks. It does not claim Asana's full portfolio, workload or integration feature set.

Should we move every Asana project?

No. Keep projects that work well there. No direct Asana synchronisation is supported; agree where each task is owned. CliniOps's external API remains a gated preview.
